Journalists Workshop

Innovate4Climate (I4C), hosted by the World Bank Group, is an annual global conference on climate finance, climate investment and climate markets. I4C has partnered with REVOLVE in its last two editions to deliver the I4C Journalists Workshop. The journalists workshop provides media training on climate reporting and content production aligned with the conference themes. The training provides an opportunity for journalists from around the world to improve their understanding of how to tailor climate stories which integrate financial solutions to environmental, human and socioeconomic consequences of the climate crisis.

About Innovate4Climate

The training has been taking place online during its last editions. REVOLVE has led the selection of participants and the design of the course content in coordination with I4C. The 2022 edition of the workshop brought together journalists and media professionals from and reporting on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region alongside technical experts to deepen their knowledge of carbon markets and carbon pricing. The training was designed to support journalists in the run up for COP27 coverage held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, in November 2022.

Stories

Content creation after the training, both on workshop outcomes/lessons learned, and on the I4C Conference topics, to give further visibility to the event.

Training kit

Selection and design of a preparatory resource kit for participants to start using before the workshop. REVOLVE also held pre-training sessions to solve any doubts from participants regarding content and to provide them with further tools and resources.

Workshop

Design of the workshop agenda, with climate communication experts and finance/technical experts to provide a comprehensive picture of the global financing landscape and help journalists hone their reporting skills on climate change.
