Robotic Vessels as a Service
The video displayed at the ITS World Congress in Hamburg on 13-14 October 2021 during the RoboVaaS project’s demonstration of the prototype and use case concept at the ITS World Congress. The RoboVaaS project developed on-demand shipping and nearshore operation services based on unmanned underwater and surface vessels. The system is facilitated by interconnected vehicles equipped with specialized sensor technology, a reliable data transfer cloud network for over-and underwater communication, a monitoring station and a real-time web-based user interface.
About RoboVaaS
To help visualize the technologies being developed, at the end of the RoboVaaS (Robotic Vessels as a Service) project led by Center for Maritime Logistics and Services (CML) at the Fraunhofer Research Institute, REVOLVE made a final video showing the progress made on the 5 services developed, including:
- Anti-Grounding Services
- Data Muling Collection
- Ship Hull Inspection
- Quay Wall inspection
- Bathymetry Data Collection
